We do allow you to make your character here at City of Lights, but they must follow the guidelines that we list below. If they do not, then we'll confront you about it when you send in your application and ask you to change the things necessary before we approve you. If you edit your profile without approval and violate these rules, we reserve the right to terminate your account if we see fit. All rules must be followed and are non-negotiable. Remember to fill our your application form as your character and with their information

All characters must be over 15 or over unless they can find another member willing to act as their guardian or take them in or you're a cannon. If you'd like to be younger then 15 and have a guardian, then you can ask another member upon joining by leaving them a comment in their plotter. They can deny or accept your request based on their character's plotline. If you see that a character already has a few other charges, then please find someone else to ask. If any of our members get to many charges to look after, a staff member will message them.You will only be allowed one guardian or a one pair of guardians if your guardian has a significant other and the significant other agrees. The only exception to this would be friends or relatives who share the responsibility of being a guardian to a younger character such as friends, roomates, etc, but we do not allow you to jump from guardian to guardian because it could cause confusion and a stir. Once you've joined, send a quick message to one of the admins and let them know that you're looking for a guardian and that when you find one, you'll send in an application. This is so that the staff know you're going to turn in your application and be serious. Once you find a guardian and they agree, then you can both come up with a story about how you either met or are going to meet and send it to the admin along with your application. Your guardians will also have to send in a quick message letting the administration know that they accept responsibility for you.

You are not allowed to use a faceclaim that is already in use and being used by someone else. If you would like to, you can ask a member to be a twin and if they agree, you can both come up with your history and you'll both need to message an admin and let them know that both of you are alright with this. Your facts and histories should match up and if they do not, we won't approve you. If we see that we are getting to many sets of twins, we will not accept any more. Also know that if you ask someone to be a twin and decline, choosing to keep their faceclaim for them self, please respect that and either find another face claim or someone more willing to be your twin.We also ask that you use modern faceclaims for your character, as modern media is easier to use. All faceclaims should be clean-cut and professional.

Your name should be an appropriate and professional name. If your name seems as if it could cause confusion or difficulty, we'll ask you to change it. Only family members will be allowed to share a last name if they so desire, so please be original and do not try and take someone else's name or we will tell you to find a new one that is not being used yet.

Your character's history must be detailed and descriptive so that we know about your character's biography. Your biography must be at least 2 paragraphs and must be included in your application and in your profile for other members to read. Each paragraph is six sentences and we expect nothing less then twelve sentences of information on your character. Make sure that you're explaining everything you possibly can about your character so others know how to react to them. If they have a dark past, be sure to explain why and include how your character was feeling during different parts of their life. The more you include and the more descriptive you are, the better and more likely you are to get noticed and approved.

We do allow most species here on City of Lights and just because a species isn't listed in our census doesn't mean that we won't be accepting them. We are a supernatural creatures role play website and so those are the types of characters that we require. We won't, however, be excepting any creatures of different genres or that do not meet our plot. For example, any science fiction creatures, medieval creatures, or inappropriate characters will not be allowed. Keep in mind that even though we have the Greek gods and goddesses from mythology, they are not from the same religion as angels and demons that come from Christianity and will not be relatable at all. They will be two separate beings from two separate celestial systems entirely that have nothing to do with each other. If you would like to be a creature or character from mythology such as Orion, a fate, or even a character from Christianity such as Lucifer, you may ask an administrator and depending on who you ask to be, they may allow you to portray them.
