Eris Knight

Name: Eris Knight
Godly Name: Eris
Status: TAKEN
Faceclaim: Nina Dobrev
Age: 21/Unknown
Species: Primordial Goddess
Title: Goddess of Chaos, Discord, & War

Eris is the goddess of chaos, discord and strife, though she's also referred to as the goddess of war, said to be much like Ares in her harsh brutality. Unlike the younger gods and goddesses, Eris has been around since the beginning of time and has always existed. She's a primordial goddess who was born from her mother, Nyx, the dreaded goddess of night. Because she's a primordial deity, Eris isn't limited to just one power like the other gods and goddesses. Her powers are simply to cause chaos and she has several resources that she can use to do so. Because she's older then most of gods of Mont Olympus, Eris has never resided there and has instead lived in the cosmos themselves among the constellations with the power of the heavens at her fingertips. Since she's spent so much time in the celestial realm, Eris's powers are magnified because she wasn't bound by earthly limitations like the gods who lived on Mont Olympus and instead dwelled in the universe itself. Being very old and very powerful, Eris does her job of causing chaos and destruction flawlessly, even creating the Apple of Discord as an extension of her power. Though there have been legends and stories about her, Eris has never made an appearance to prove or disprove her existence. The gods decided that her apple of discord could be used against them if it fell into the wrong hands and sought it's power for themselves, though Eris had already forseen the god's interest in her apple. She recruited her newfound friend Aphrodite to help her protect the apple and keep it out of the wrong hands. Aphrodite agreed, leaving Mont Olympus in secret to accompany Eris to earth. They took up human identities, Eris becoming "Eris Knight", choosing her mother's name meaning "night" as her surname, though she realized that "Knight" was a more common surname so she changed the spelling. She protected Aphrodite and the apple as they traveled together throughout the centuries until the early 1800's when they traveled to the new city of New Orleans. Aphrodite and Eris helped build the city together, even founding a section of it for themselves, though they were soon forced to disappear once more. Eris is very destructive and manipulative. Her flawless and perfect beauty can be deceiving and she often uses it as camouflage to hide her true intentions. She's deceptive and seductive, rating right up with Aphrodite for her looks and charm. She's also known for being very sadistic, cruel, and unforgiving. She likes to win and she looks at almost everything as a game. She very rarely shows her humanity or weakness, not knowing what it's like to really feel anything because she was created with the sole purpose of causing chaos, though she's protective over those she cares for, even going to extraordinary lengths to save Aphrodite from herself. Eris is not good at relationships because she's never had many. She pushes people away from her before they get close enough to cause her to soften, knowing that she has to remain unfaltering in her duties as the goddess of chaos. Her twin sister is Hecate, though they've never met and though she keeps her distance from the rest of her family members and hasn't seen them in years, she's always shared a close brothers with her older brothers, Moros, Momus, and Geras.

Species: Primordial Goddess
Title: Goddess of Magic, Sorcery, Light & the Underworld

Hecate or "Cate" is the primordial goddess of magic, light, the underworld, and witchcraft, crossroads, ghosts, and necromancy. She's the twin sister of Eris, the goddess of chaos, strife, war, darkness, and discord, and along with Eris is the youngest of Nyx, the goddess of Night's children. Even from birth, the twins showed tremendous strength and fearing their power, were separated and have never met each other. Hecate was sent to live in the underworld and Eris was sent to live in the cosmos, neither of them ever having any knowledge of each other until they each got a vision of the other and remembered. Hecate and her family predate all other beings and were the first deities ever in existence, making her and Eris the youngest of the oldest family of celestial deities, though Hecate had lost her memory for a few thousand years and couldn't remember who she was or her family. Not much is known about her, because she's very mysterious like her sister and keeps to herself, rarely leaving the underworld. Hecate has never known her family and secretly longs to have one after all of the years she's spent alone. Even though she's one of the most powerful deities in existence, Hecate is usually forgotten about because of her domain in the far corner of the underworld. Like her sister, Hecate has been used and abused for her power, but has been more tolerant then her twin sister.

Title: God of Mockery

Momus is the personification of satire, mockery, censure; a god of writers and poets; a spirit of evil-spirited blame and unfair criticism. His name is related to μομφή, meaning 'blame' or 'censure'. He is depicted in classical art as lifting a mask from his face. He's been depicted all throughout history in literature and theater, making several appearances in the Renissance era and then in the mid 1800's while visiting his sister in her city of New Orleans where he became a large part of the mardi gras celebrations. Though most classify him as a "personified concept", he's a primordial god who's been around since the beginning of time. He's one of the middle children of Nyx, the goddess of night and is the older brother to Eris and Hecate, though he has no idea that he's related to Hecate or that she's Eris's twin. As the god of mockery, he loves to mock others and have a good time. He enjoys partying, celebrations, and drama, loving any chance he can get to make a scene. He is sometimes ruled by his passion for insults and his need for attention, though he has a softer side reserved for those closest to him. He's always shared a close bond with his younger sister, Eris, and would always stick up for her. He was the only one to visit her in New Orleans and was the last of their family to see her, but now he's back in New Orleans with his brothers looking for her. He's extremely possessive and protective and hates competeition of any kind. He's chosen the last name "Blake" because Blake means black and he's a darker god. It's mortal surname that he shares with his other brothers.  He hates the Olympians and feels as if they should be over thrown, disliking them for everything they've done to his family.

Godly Title: God of Doom

Moros is the personification of impending doom, who drives mortals to their deadly fate.He is one of the offspring of Nyx and is a full brother of Momus, Eris, Geras, and though he doesn't know it, Hecate. He's an older child of Nyx and is more reserved then his siblings, being very strategic and quiet. He doesn't say much because he's usually deep in thought. He doesn't open up to many people and sees little use in humanity or for anyone outside of his family, treating everyone who's not a member of their family as an unwanted outside and interruption. He's arguably one of the darker children of Nyx, though he's also very fair and honorable. He loves his siblings and is always doing his best to look out for them. He doesn't like his step father or half siblings very much, but he doesn't fight or argue with them because he doesn't think it's worth his time. He's careful with everything he does and has always loved his younger sister, Eris most of all. He dislikes the fact that most of their other family members dislike her and have tried to abuse her power and has even stepped into more of a fatherly role with her since their step father Erebus, took no interest in her for anything other then power. He's now teamed up with his other brothers in search of her and because he heard a rumor that Eris might have a twin sister. He's chosen the last name "Blake" as his mortal surname because it means "black".

Title: God of Age

Geras is the primordial god of age and is the oldest son of Nyx, despite his youthrful and deceiving appearance. His job is to collect the youth of those who's time is dwindling and in doing so, keeps their youth for himself. He's wise and smart, though he's also easily bored and uninterested. He's neutral in most affairs, though he's always been closer with his siblings Momus, Moros, and Eris. Not much is known about him except that he doesn't like to venture to the mortal realm, but he's made an exception in search of Eris and his possible sister, Hecate accompanied by his brothers. Like the rest of his family, he doesn't really like the Olympians, and likes them even less after hearing what they've done to his sister. He hates Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades more then anything and things that Mont Olympus should get better management, though he doesn't care what happens to the rest of the olympian pantheon.

Zac Skye

Name: Zac Skye
Godly Name: Zeus
Status: OPEN

Faceclaim: Alexander Skarsgard
Age: 33/Unknown
Species: God
Titles: God of the Sky

Zeus is the god of the sky and is the oldest of the Olympian gods. He is younger then primordial deities such as Nyx and Eris, though, his physical age is the oldest. He's the older brother of Poseidon and Hades and has fathered a range of gods and heroes from Apollo, Artemis, Hermes, Athena, and Ares to Hercules. He loves all of this children, but is constantly trying to protect them from his wife, Hera, who, scorned by his many affairs, does what she can to ruin everything she can. Though he's married to Hera and once loved her deeply, he now only sees her as a nuisance because of the trouble she likes to stir up and often seeks comfort in other consorts or women. He's the leader of the gods and is the son of the fallen Titans that he destroyed and locked away to assume power. Despite usually being a fairly calm god, Zeus's weakness is his paranoia about his throne and his power, wanting to do everything he can to ensure that nobody takes it away from him and it's that paranoia that has driven him so deeply in his quest for the apple of discord. He feels as if the apple would keep everything in order and he hopes to either have it and lock it away for his own use or destroy it all together and Eris along with it. He has a fairly neutral relationship with his younger brother, Poseidon, but a strained one with his younger brother Hades, do to the fact that Hades is always trying to take Zeus's power away from him. Zeus favors his daughter, Athena, over anyone and usually lets her have her way, neglecting Ares in the process. He also is the one who forced Aphrodite to marry Hephaestus against her will so that none of the other gods would fight for her hand in marriage. He knew that Ares cared about her, but didn't care about it and only married her off to Hephaestus because he knew Aphrodite didn't love him and that he was considered homely. Zeus also favors his son, Hercules, and does what he can to help him in his heroic endeavors, always being very proud of him. He's the one who sealed Aphrodite in her temple as punishment when he found that she didn't have the apple and left her there. When Eris, Aphrodite, and the apple disappeared, he was furious and did everything he could to find them, eventually giving up after a few thousand years of not finding a trace of them. He's since grown to dislike Aphrodite, considering her actions a form of treason and has never liked Eris, always feeling as if she was s very devious and cunning witch, though he admits to his curiosity about her since he'd never met her. Zeus is very wrathful, paranoid, and generally calm unless something happens to make him feel threatened or insecure. He knows nothing about the lies Hades told Hercules to use him to find the apple and Aphrodite. The mortal name that he usually uses is "Zac Skye".

Titles: Goddess of Marriage

Hera is the wife of Zeus in the Olympian pantheon. Her chief function is as the goddess of women and marriage.  Hera is known for her jealous and vengeful nature against Zeus's lovers and offspring, but also against mortals who crossed her.. Paris also earned Hera's hatred by choosing Aphrodite as the most beautiful goddess. Not much is known about her birth or origins, but she was one of the daughters of the Titan Rhea and was present in the war against the Titans with the other older Olympians and helped them win their power. She's solemn and interested, but is also very wrathful, envious, jealous, and spiteful. She married Zeus and shortly after their marriage, he started to be unfaithful to her, immediately causing Hera to become bitter. She did what she can to ruin any affair he had, turning his mistresses into monsters and murdering their children or taking a more subtle approach. She's the mother of Hephaestus and Ares and dislikes Hephaestus because of his foot deformity, where she tries to favor Ares because she does not like Athena and Zeus favors Athena. Hera is very manipulative, vindictive, and hurtful, not really caring who's feelings she hurts because she feels it's only fair for her to hurt others like her husband has hurt her. She rules along side Zeus as "queen of the gods" but very rarely gets along with any of them. She's described as "matronly" and "stoic". Hera is now in the mortal realm under the name of "Heddy McQueen", Zac's estranged wife. She plans on getting the apple and using it for herself against the other gods or for getting it and destroying it because she knows Zeus wants it. She's going to try and cause as much trouble as she can, disliking Hercules, Athena, and anybody that Zeus seems to care about.

Adrian Finn

Faceclaim: Ian Somerhalder
Age: 25/Unknown
Species: God
Titles: God of the Sea & Earthquakes

Poseidon  is the god of the sea and earthquakes. He's the brother of both Zeus and Hades and the middle child of the Titans, Cronus and Rhea. After the first war of the gods where the Olympians gained their supremacy from the Titans, the earth was divided into three for the three brothers. Poseidon was awarded the sea and made it his home, often spending much time between the sea and Mont Olympus. He's is one of the twelve Olympian deities of the pantheon in Greek mythology and considered to be one of the most powerful and oldest gods alongside his brothers, Zeus and Hades. He's quite the womanizer, having many mistresses and affairs with little or no regard to any of them because he's never been in love, not even believing it exists. He's very manipulative and deceitful, doing what he can to get what he wants. He's also very competitive and domineering. Poseidon has, however, on occasion rescued damsels in distress and saved different beings from meeting their demise, showing that he may have a slightly softer side and has some morals, even though they're deeply hidden. Poseidon rarely interferes in matters that he finds no interest in and he's very loyal to those he cares about, being protective and possessive over them. He's usually very neutral or careless unless he feels a certain way towards something, though he has a temper as violent as a sea storm. Out of all of the gods, Poseidon was the one most enthralled by the idea of Eris and her apple of discord. He even convinced his brother Zeus to throw a gathering in her name, hoping that she'd come as the guest of honor so that he could meet her. He waited and waited until never showed up. Disappointed, Poseidon made it his goal to find her and meet her, always known for enjoying challenges that appeared before him. Though he feels that he already has everything that he could possibly want and he'd never admit it, Poseidon is secretly lonely and it causes him to come off stern and hurtful. He isn't very fond of the younger gods, but especially dislikes Ares. Many believe that the reason that he doesn't get along with Ares is because they're both so similar that they can't get along. Poseidon is, however, very fond of Aphrodite as a friend, due to their water-based similarities and powers, though he did little to intervene on her behalf when Zeus took action against her when he demanded the apple. Poseidon is now in the mortal realm looking for the lost goddesses and the apple, though he's not quite sure if he'd actually hand any of them over to his older brother Zeus. He's smart enough not to be influenced by Hades and is not necessarily after the apple or the goddesses for their power, but more or less because he sees it as a challenge and he's curious. He's living under the name of "Adrian Finn", taking his first name from the "Adriatic Sea".

Haden Black

Faceclaim: James Franco
Age: 24/Unknown
Species: God
Titles: God of the Underworld

Hades is the god of the underworld and riches. He's the youngest brother of Zeus and Poseidon and is the youngest child of Titans, Cronus and Rhea. Hades and his brothers fought in the war of the gods along with their allies for ten years until they defeated the Titans and gained control over the cosmos. After they'd won, the brothers drew lots to divide up their new domain. Zeus chose the sky, Poseidon drew the sea, and Hades received the underworld, the unseen realm to which the souls of the dead go upon leaving the world as well as any and all things beneath the earth. Hades obtained his wife and goddess of Vegetation, Persephone, through trickery and violent abduction, pulling her back to the underworld with him despite the protests of her mother, Demeter. Hades is very jealous and spiteful, often feeling as if he deserves more then what he has. He's manipulative, deceptive, and cunning, not caring if he tips the balance in his favor. He's unforgiving and selfish, never able to be trusted because he always has an ulterior motive to everything he does. He lacks emotion and never shows it to anyone unless he feels they might be able to understand him. He's morbid and grim, usually residing in the underworld with Persephone. Hades is also the uncle of Hercules and the one that sent him to find the apple of discord and seduce Aphrodite by lying to him. When Hercules failed, Hades was furious and he tortured Herc till he found out the location of the goddesses and the apple of discord. He kept it a secret, wanting the apple and it's powers for himself. He released the Hercules from hell once again, knowing that he'd fallen in love with Aphrodite and would find her again to be with her. Ever since Eris, Aphrodite, and the apple disappeared, Hades has been searching the world for them, keeping it a secret from the other gods who'd already given up. He hopes to use the apple of discord to cause discord between the gods and goddesses, sparking a second war between the gods so that he can conquer the cosmos for himself. He's chosen the name of "Haden Black" as his alias for the mortal realm because Haden is a close name to Hades and Black because of his gloomy atmosphere and "Lord of the Dead" persona.

Titles: Goddess of Vegitation

Persephone is the goddess of vegetation and fertility. She's the daughter of Demeter and the wife of Hades. She lived far away from the other Olympians in order to focus more on her talents of nature and fertility, planting seeds and nurturing plants. It's said that Apollo and Hermes took interest in her, but Demeter refused all of their gifts and hid her daughter away from the company of the Olympian deities. Zeus, permitted Hades to take Persephone to carry her off against her will, knowing that Demeter would not likely let her daughter reside in the underworld. One day, when Persephone was gathering flowers, Hades burst through a cleft in the earth and abducted her, taking her back to the underworld with him. When Demeter found out that her daughter had been taken, she became distraught, searching the entire earth with torches for her beloved daughter. In her anger and neglect, she forbid the earth to flourish, causing famine and hunger. Hearing the cries of the hungry people, Zeus ordered Hades to return Persephone/ Hades indeed complied with the request, but first he tricked her, giving her some pomegranate seeds to eat. Persephone was released by Hermes, who had been sent to retrieve her, but because she had tasted food in the underworld, she was obliged to spend a third of each year (the winter months) there, and the remaining part of the year with the gods above. It soon became half a year that she would spend in the underworld. Persephone is a very bitter woman, who used to be young and happy but has since had her life drained out of her from spending so much time among the dead. Though she's grown to care about Hades, she also hates the fact that he forced this life upon her and holds resentment for that. She isn't very social and is reclusive, often keeping among the darker gods. Over the years, her healthy state of mind has diminished and has been replaced by a feeling of dread and hopelessness because she knows that she will forever be bound to the dead. She was once full of life and enjoyed her time away from Hades when she was free, but now she hardly even bothers leaving the lower realms at all because she feels as if it's better to just stay there then stomach the disappointment of having to return every few months. She has very little interest in godly matters and simply hopes that she can find someone who understands her. Though she's usually very neutral and unsocial, Persephone does take pity on those at the mercy of Hades in some situations and does little things to try and make them feel better. She's chosen the name of "Phoebe Greene" as her mortal alias, choosing Phoebe because it sounds similar to her  Greek name and choosing "Greene" because of her vegetation abilities, though she altered the spelling to a more common surname like Eris.

Titles: Goddess of the Harvest

Demeter is the goddess of the harvest, who presides over grains and the fertility of the earth. She's the mother of Persephone and the sister of Hera. Not much is known about her origins or her life, but she's the central earth goddess of Greek mythology. She's one of the daughters of one of the Titans and helped Zeus and the other Olympians over throw their parents and claim Mont Olympus as their own domain. She's very motherly and sweet, but also very sad due to the fact that her daughter, Persephone was kidnapped and taken from her to the underworld by Hades. She's understanding and compassionate, but her deep sadness has caused her to withdraw from those around her and she keeps to herself these days. She tries not to get involved in petty problems on Mont Olympus and had little interest in anything anymore after Persephone was taken from her. She dislikes Hades and Zeus because of the part they played in Persephone's abduction, but has since been silenced by them, so she refuses to talk about it. She has a gentle spirit and is very light hearted, supportive and friendly, trying to help whenever she can. However, despite being very sweet and calm, she can be wrathful when she doesn't get what she wants. She has no current consort, though she's had some in the past and keeps her mind on her work keeping the earth fertile. She doesn't care very much about the apple of discord and wishes that the other olympians would leave the situation alone, though she knows that they won't. She's come to New Orleans because she heard the other gods were traveling there and hopes to find her daughter, Persephone, having not seen her for quite some time. She's chosen the name of "Deidra Greene" as her mortal identity.

Aphrodite Diamond

Godly Name: Aphrodite

Faceclaim: Candice Swanepoel
Age: 21/Unknown
Species: Goddess
Titles: Goddess of Love, Beauty & Sexuality

Aphrodite is the goddess of love, beauty, and sexuality. She's one of the twelve Olympians and was born from the sea foam, arriving on a seashell. Because of her beauty, other gods feared that their rivalry over her would interrupt the peace among them and lead to war, so Zeus married her to Hephaestus, who, because of his deformity, was not seen as a threat, though Ares was already perusing her hand. Aphrodite hated the idea of an arranged marriage and tried to do whatever she could to prevent her union with Hephaestus, but she was eventually forced to submit, making her very bitter towards anyone who had a role in it. She refused to give her new husband any affection, due to despising him so much and started an affair with Ares instead, but was later humiliated by Hephaestus when he found them together and ensnared them in a transparent net to shame them in front of the other gods. Though she was bitter, Aphrodite still went to many of the social events on Mont Olympus and as fate would have it, she was there when Eris's apple of discord fell from the heavens. She immediately took it, feeling she deserved it since it was inscribed to the "Fairest" and she was the goddess of beauty and won it when Paris of Troy chose her as the most beautiful out of her, Hera, and Athena. Athena and Hera never forgave her for winning the beauty contest, but Aphrodite rewarded him, eventually leading to the Trojan War. She then took the apple back to her temple where she met Eris. Becoming fascinated by the goddess of discord, she asked many questions and the two got to talking for quite some time. Eris eventually took back her apple and Aphrodite was later summoned to hand it over to Zeus. She explained that she didn't have it anymore and was locked in her temple by Zeus, but saved by Eris, who had a mission for her. Together, they left Mont Olympus to protect the apple and joined the mortal realm, posing as sisters. They traveled the world together through time with their apple until arriving in New Orleans where they helped build the city. She later met Hercules there when Hades sent him to retrieve the apple and kill it's guardians and he fell in love with her. They had a short relationship before Katherine found out about his original plan to take the apple and kill it's protectors and killed him. Eris told Aphrodite that he left with another woman and she never found out the truth. Aphrodite is probably the most emotional out of her small group of friends and is definitely the most compassionate. Despite being very seductive and sultry, Aphrodite is really a shy girl who hides behind her beauty, using it as a safehaven so that nobody will ever get to close to seeing just how insecure and sensitive she can really be. She's very protective over the people she cares about and though it's her nature to be flirtatious, she isn't nearly as promiscuous as others make her out to be

Titles: God of War

Ares is the god of war. He is one of the Twelve Olympians, and the son of Zeus and Hera. He often represents the physical or violent and untamed aspect of war, in contrast to the armored Athena, whose functions as a goddess of intelligence include military strategy and generalship. Although he embodied the physical valor necessary for success in war, he was a dangerous force, "overwhelming, insatiable in battle, destructive, and man-slaughtering". Not much is known about Ares's origins, only that he was born from the union of Zeus and Hera. Though he never had a marriage or a sole consort, Ares was always been in love with Aphrodite, the goddess of love and is one of her most well-known lovers. He wanted to be with her, but because of her beauty, Zeus knew that a rivalry over her could potentially spark a war in Mont Olympus, so he married her off to Hephaestus in an arranged marriage. Aphrodite, hating the idea of being married to Hephaestus against her will, began a passionate affair with Ares. Eventually, Hephaestus discovered Aphrodite’s affection for Ares through another god, and planned a trap during one of their trysts. While Aphrodite and Ares lay together in bed, Hephaestus ensnared them in an unbreakable chain-link net so small as to be invisible and dragged them to Mount Olympus to shame them in front of the other gods for retribution. Ares never forgot and never forgave any of the other gods for what they did to him or to Aphrodite. He was upset when Zeus became angry with Aphrodite for not having the apple of discord and tried to defend her, but was sent away until she'd already been locked in her temple. He still tried to help her, but soon found out that she left Mont Olympus  and became very hurt, though he didn't know that she was leaving with Eris to protect the apple of discord until she'd already gone and he found out that she left Hephaestus as well. Ares is very stubborn and hotheaded, being very untrusting and careless. He's also known for womanizing in his spare time, though he never made a commitment to any of them because he only loved Aphrodite and his womanizing was to spite her for marrying someone else even though he knew she had no choice. Ares is probably the most misunderstood god and has been subjected to much public humiliation at the hands of Hephaestus, Poseidon, and Zeus. He's never felt like he belonged and he was never well liked, making him very temperamental and cruel. He enjoys spending his time with darker deities because he feels that they understand him better then the rest of the gods. Ares has never felt good enough and has been the recipient of many godly outbursts in disputes in his youth and it's made him into a hard fighter. He's always lived in Athena's shadow and can't stand her. He enjoys warfare because he feels like it's the only thing he's good at and he's protective over the few people he cares about. He's also very jealous, possessive, impulsive, spiteful, selfish, determined, dark, and sadistic. Despite his hard shell, Ares truly is a passionate romantic inside. Many speculate that Ares's attachment to Aphrodite comes from the fact that he never received the love he needed, but he found it in the goddess of love herself. Though he'd defend Mont Olympus, it isn't known whether or not Ares would turn his back on his home for a more valuable cause. He dislikes many of the other gods, but particularly Athena, Hephaestus, Zeus, and Poseidon. He obviously dislikes Hephaestus for his humiliation and for taking Aphrodite's hand in marriage and he dislikes Zeus for playing his role in it. He dislikes Athena because of their sibling rivalry, but many suspect that Ares and Poseidon don't get along because they're very similar in personality and can't seem to ever resolve and issue.

She sometimes lets her ego get in the way of her relationships and friendships, coming off as a "know-it-all" type. She's very competitive and likes to prove that she's right as much as she can, though she'd never admit it. She's proud of her intelligence and strict about her views and opinions, often known for trying to shame the other gods into being a little more moral like her. Athena is a perfectionist and wants everything to have a logical order, though she has a good heart and good intentions. Athena is very moral and just, trying to make everything fair. She's one of the most compassionate gods there is, though she's had a rivalry going on with her brother, Ares, since they were both born and always insists that she's right, challenging him to anything that she feels would prove she's better then him. She doesn't feel bad about how Ares is always in her shadow and just uses it as validation that she's better then him. She's also very prideful at times and can be vain, as shown when she fought with Hera and Aphrodite over the apple of discord because it was inscribed "to the fairest". Athena is very loyal to Zeus and Mont Olympus and would do whatever she could to make sure that it was safe and that her father's rules and wishes were enforced. As her mortal alias, she's chosen the name "Athena Halvard" because Halvard means: "rock defender" and she is the goddess of battle strategy and defenses.

Henry Smith

Name: Henry Smith
Godly Name: Hephaestus
Status: OPEN
*AUDITION REQUIRED*
Faceclaim: Torrance Coombs
Age: 32/Unknown
Species: God
Titles: God of Craftsmen

Hephaestus is the Greek god of blacksmiths, craftsmen, artisans, sculptors, metals, metallurgy, and volcanoes. He's the son of Hera and stopped ageing physically at 33, close to when Zeus did. He's the oldest of the olympian's children and is a  smithing god. Hephaestus made all the weapons of the gods in Olympus. He served as the blacksmith of the gods, and was worshipped in the manufacturing and industrial centers of Greece, particularly Athens. Despite being a "momma's boy" and being willing to do anything for his mother, he was born with foot deformity and because of this, Hera flung him down from the heavens right after his birth where he landed on the island of  Lemnos, where he was cared for and taught to be a master craftsman by an ancient tribe native to that island. Hephaestus was the only Olympian to have returned to Olympus after being exiled and eventually got revenge on his mother for rejecting him by making her a magical golden throne, which, when she sat on it, did not allow her to stand up.  Even though he never truly forgave Hera for what she did, he put his efforts to use  and kept himself busy, often trying to please her, though it very rarely worked. Because of his foot, Hephaestus was considered to be "homely" by the other gods and because of this and being the most unfaltering of the gods, he was chosen to wed the goddess of beauty, Aphrodite, by Zeus so that there wouldn't be a war over her hand in marriage. He was hesitant at first because Hephaestus had already prepared himself to ask for Athena's hand, having always been attracted to her, but the moment he met Aphrodite, he was bewitched by her beauty. He'd been aware that Ares, the god of war was already perusing her and was deeply in love with her, but he accepted Zeus's offer for her hand and started getting marriage preparations ready anyway. Aphrodite, who'd returned Ares's affections was furious of being married off against her will and couldn't stand Hephaestus for playing his part in the situation. She hated being forced to marry him and tried to get him to see reason. Hephaestus refused any offer she offered him to try and sway his decision and the two were wed. Shortly after that, Aphrodite refused to show him any affection and instead started an affair with Ares. When Hephaestus found out about their meetings,he  discovers Aphrodite’s love for Ares through another god, and planned a trap during one of their trysts. While Aphrodite and Ares lay together in bed, Hephaestus ensnared them in an unbreakable chain-link net so small as to be invisible and dragged them to Mount Olympus to shame them in front of the other gods for retribution. Ares never forgot and never forgave Hephaestus and the two have been enemies ever since. Once he felt he had Ares out of the way, Hephaestus did what he could to try and force Aphrodite to love him, telling himself that she'd get over it and get used to the idea eventually but she never did.  The couple never got along, and eventually, Aphrodite made him so mad that Hephaestus said he'd throw her back into the sea and demand his bride price back. Aphrodite was so hurt and upset that she left him that night and vowed never to see him again or bless him with any love. The next day, Hephaestus was at her door, trying to win her back and apologizing because he knew that they were still married and she rejected him once again. Even more angry then before, Hephaestus went back to Zeus and told him what was going on and the thunder god forced them back together, making Aphrodite even more bitter then before. When she was locked in the temple by Zeus after she failed to produce the apple of discord, Hephaestus did nothing to help her and prevented Ares from doing so, going with Zeus and the other Olympians to try and find the apple. Aphrodite escaped and left with Eris to join the mortal world and protect the apple and though they still technically married to the Olympians, Aphrodite has already broken their union with her love-based powers and is a free woman. Hephaestus is usually very level headed, calm, and moral, except when it comes to his wife. He's a lot like Athena in personality which is why he always hoped to marry her. They have a close relationship and have been searching for the apple of discord by themselves. Hephaestus is to the male gods as Athena is to the females, for he gives skill to mortal artists and was believed to have taught men the arts alongside Athena. He was nevertheless believed to be far inferior to the sublime character of Athena. At Athens they had temples and festivals in common. He's loyal to the olympian gods and only the olympian gods and is on earth under the mortal name of: Henry Smith, choosing the name of "Smith" as a short form of the word "blacksmith".

Artemis Hunt

Name: Artemis Hunt
Godly Name: Artemis
Status: OPEN
*AUDITION REQUIRED*
Faceclaim: Alexandra Daddairo
Age: 23/Unknown
Species: Goddess
Titles: Goddess of the Hunt

Artemis is the goddess of the hunt, forests, archery and animals. She's also called "Artemis of the wildland, Mistress of Animals" and is the twin sister of Apollo and the daughter of Leto. She was the Hellenic goddess of the hunt, wild animals, wilderness, childbirth, virginity and protector of young girls, bringing and relieving disease in women; she often was depicted as a huntress carrying a bow and arrows. Not much of Artemis' childhood is fully recounted in any myth, but it is known that Hera was angry at her husband, Zeus, for impregnating Leto and fathering Artemis and Apollo. Because of this, Hera was very hostile to the twins, but especially to Artemis and even hit her on one occasion, creating tension between the two of them that was long lasting. She taught herself archery, becoming the best archer on Mont Olympus and in other realms. Also when she was younger, she climbed on her father's lap and asked him if she could help aid women in childbirth and if she could always remain a virgin, feeling as if it was the fates' will for her to be a midwife. Like Athena, Artemis prides herself on being pure and has even been known to strike or raise a hand to anyone who has unpure thoughts about her. She takes pleasure out of either humiliating or turning her suitors into woodland animals and only ever loved her hunting companion, the great hunter, Orion. She spent much time hunting with him and fell deeply in love with him and was devastated when she accidentally killed him, becoming even more bitter about anyone who ever took any romantic interest in her. Unlike the other gods, she wanted no city or village dedicated to her, but instead asked to rule over the mountains and the forest.  She's very close with her brother, Apollo and considers herself to be a decent friend of Athena, though she's very shy and usually keeps to herself or to her woodland animals. She detests males and her bitterness has only grown towards them with the death of Orion, whom was made into a installation at her request so they would never truly be apart. She enjoys the hunt and the adrenaline of shooting her bow, thinking of herself as an advocate for women and animals. Artemis is usually very kind to women in need or anyone who seems to genuinely need her help. She doesn't care much about the apple of discord, though she's been tracking Aphrodite and trying to find her because she feels that she's responsible for using her tracking and hunting skills to find any of the gods or goddesses that vanish. Though she was never all that close with Aphrodite because they didn't have a lot in common, she was always fond of her and never had a problem with her. Her main enemy is Hera and she can't stand her. Artemis has chosen the name "Artemis Hunt" as her mortal name.

Apollo Haul

Name: Apollo Haul
Godly Name: Apollo
Status: OPEN
*AUDITION REQUIRED*
Faceclaim: Alex Pettyfer
Age: 24/Unknown
Species: God
Titles: God of the Sun

Apollo is the god of light, the sun, and music. He's one of the younger gods and one of the most important Olympian deities in ancient Greek Culture. He's the son of Leto and the twin brother of Artemis, the huntress, caring for her very much. Apollo is also associated with medicine and healing, and is the patron god of music and poetry. Like Eris, Apollo is an oracular god who can foresee the future, though he doesn't get his visions as frequently as Eris and they aren't as vivid or accurate. Because his visions aren't as accurate or graphic as Eris's and he only gets an outline of the future, he does not experience the pain that she does when she has one. Because of his visions, Apollo was treated as a prophet among the people. He tends to be neutral, trying to stay out of godly affairs and feuds. He's very quiet, preferring to be with his instruments then in a crowded room full of people. Apollo hasn't taken much interest in the apple of discord, feeling as if the gods should just leave it alone. He's very deep and poetic with a caring personality and a bit of a shy side. Apollo gets along well with most because he's so neutral and in ancient Greece, he used to drive his sun chariot through the sky every morning and place the sun high in the sky. He discourages violence and anything with the potential to start a conflict. Apollo's mortal alias is "Apollo Haul", Haul meaning: "sun" in Welsh.

Hea Conley

Name: Hea Conley
Godly Name: Hestia
Status: OPEN
*AUDITION REQUIRED*
Faceclaim: Leona Lewis
Age: 26/Unknown
Species: Goddess
Titles: Goddess of the Hearth

Hestia is a virgin goddess of the hearth, ancient Greek architecture, and the right ordering of domesticity, the family, and the state. She's also the sister of Hera and Demeter. She's the least known virgin goddess and not much is known about her. Like her sister, Demeter, she's caring, compassionate, loving, loyal, and friendly. She's strict about her beliefs and how she feels about how things should be run, sometimes making her come off as a little bossy when she's trying to fix a broken family. She's a little timid when it comes to the opposite gender and avoids men when she can, never having been in love or a relationship. She's easily intimidated and is one of the quietest gods, having very little to say. She doesn't much much to do with Olympian affairs, but she's still considered to be apart of the Olympian Pantheon. Hestia's focus revolves around her family life and helping others with their family lives, though she doesn't get along with her oldest sister, Hera, due to their difference in personality. She's very close to her sister, Demeter. She's chosen "Hea Conley" as her mortal name because Conley means "purified fire".

Hudson Dahey

Name: Hudson Dahey
Godly Name: Hermes
Status: OPEN
*AUDITION REQUIRED*
Faceclaim: Daniel Sharman
Age: 19/Unknown
Species: God
Titles: Messenger to the Gods

Hermes is the son of Zeus and one of the youngest gods. He is quick and cunning, and moves freely between the worlds of the mortal and divine, as emissary and messenger of the gods, intercessor between mortals and the divine, and conductor of souls into the afterlife. He is protector and patron of travelers, herdsmen, thieves, orators and wit, literature and poets, athletics and sports, invention and trade. He is also a trickster, and outwits other gods for his own satisfaction or the sake of humankind or Zeus himself. He is most commonly associated with his "winged sandals" that allow him to travel so quickly between realms and places. While being a trickster, Hermes is very deceptive, witty, sarcastic, manipulative, and dramatic. He can make anyone believe just about anything and gets a kick out of twisting situations for his benefit. Though they find him annoying at times, most of the gods like Hermes simply because he's entertaining and because he really does take his job seriously and doesn't like to ever really hurt anyone, usually having good intentions hidden deep in whatever he does, often being called: "the bringer of good luck," "guide and guardian" and "excellent in all the tricks." by the mortals he helps. Hermes usually is very loyal to his father, Zeus, but is also very close with Apollo and understand that there's a balance and order to things and he doesn't like when that's threatened by anyone or anything, even the other gods. Like his uncle, Poseidon, Hermes was fascinated about the apple of discord , thinking about how powerful and rare it was for such a creation to exist. Though he's never met her personally, Hermes respects Eris for the work that she does, knowing that there can't be a world without chaos and that she's needed to keep everything afloat. He doesn't encourage his father meddling in other affairs that he shouldn't interfere in, but usually goes along with it anyways because he has a hard time standing up to him. Hermes can also be very helpful and has helped many of the gods, mortals, and heroes on many occasions. He isn't to fond of his uncle Hades, though because of his constant plans for anarchy and does what he can too foil his plans or simply trick him. Because he travels a lot, Hermes also usually has all the latest gossip and keeps tabs on everyone that he can as well. He's chosen the name "Hudson Dahey" because "Dahey" is Irish, meaning Swift; nimbleness and because Hudson starts with "H" which is the first letter of his godly name.

                                   MYTHOLOGICAL BEINGS

Herc Gallo

Name: Hercules Gallo
Mythological Name: Heracles
Status: OPEN
*AUDITION REQUIRED*
Faceclaim: Andrew Garfield
Age: 19/Unknown
Species: Demi God

Heracles known as "Hercules" or "Herc" is a demi god and the son of Zeus. He's also the hero that Hades enlisted to retrieve the apple of discord and murder it's guardians. Though it's completely against his nature to ever do anything to hurt the innocent, Hercules had died of hydra poison before he could achieve the godly status that he wanted and was sent to the underworld. He lived there for many years, hoping for a way to appease his father and gain recognition with the gods again. Even from his place in the underworld, rumors were buzzing about the apple of discord, but Herc never got the full story, so when his uncle Hades was looking for a hero to get the apple, he saw promise in the young demi god. He lied to his nephew, telling Hercules that it was really his father's apple and that it'd been stolen from Zeus by Eris who then corrupted Aphrodite into helping her. Once he heard Hades's lie, Hercules was determined to get the apple back for his father and save Aphrodite from the monstrous Eris. Hades agreed to give him his life back as long as Hercules brought back the apple and stopped Eris. Hercules agreed and so he set off for New Orleans from the River Styx. He kept his ancient Greek surname of Gallo and abbreviated his name to his nickname, "Herc" so that he'd blend in better. He had trouble adjusting to the times, but our hero was able to locate his targets, though it didn't go as expected. He ended up falling deeply in love with Aphrodite, his plans to kill Eris and take the apple being put on hold by his emotions. Eventually, finding out about his plan to kill the golden apple of discord's protectors, Katherine Sterling killed him and sent him back to the underworld where he spent his time tortured by Hades for his failure until recently when Hades let him return to New Orleans, knowing he'd go straight to Aphrodite and lead him to the apple. Hercules is very clumsy and awkward, though his heart is pure and he strives to be a hero and defend the helpless. He's got a strong set of morals for what's right and what's wrong. He trains and works himself hard, wanting to make everyone important to him proud, but because of his relation to Zeus and his awkward manner, he often gets caught in the crossfire of strange situations. While his strength is above average, Hercules isn't all that intelligent. But what the hero lacks in outstanding brains, he makes up for in compassion and the desire to do good, which is especially appreciated in a world with constant turmoil around every corner, be it by the hands of a demon or beast, or The Lord of the Dead himself, Hades. As mentioned above, Hercules is compassionate, and his most dominate trait is, without a doubt, his innocence and massively kind heart, in spite of being treated like a "freak" by his peers and those around him (with the exception of his foster parents) throughout his childhood, and adolescent years. He's also very protective over those he loves. Hercules will also be trying to figure out the world of the living again along with the new era.
